Although formally an ideology, the phenomenology of Juche and Kim-cult resembles religion. Religions in the formal sense are almost not openly active.
Buddhism Korea used to favor Buddhism quite a lot in the past. Buddhist temples do exist and have been renovated. Not many of them act as a religious center, they are predominantly museums.
Confucianism Being a ‘feudal ideology’ Confucianism has been repressed. However, one cannot deny that in Juche and Kim-cult Confucianism has been influential.
Christianity Christianity still exists in North Korea, though on a small scale and with only a few churches. Christians were logical political suspects, because they could not fully embrace the monopoly of Juche and because of the connection to the West.
