All foreigners traveling to Ukraine is suggested and advised to carry your passports with you at ALL times - specially if you are not Caucasian. People of non-Caucasian background are normally hassled by local police usually for a bribe. You are NOT obligated to offer any forms of bribe or they put it politely as "Gifts". The most they can threaten you with is escort you to the Police Station, and offer to go to the station with them. ALWAYS make sure you have your Embassy's or Consulate's emergency phone number with them. Wishing you all the best,
