A red brick church of gothic style was built in 1888. During the period of 1966-1988, the Curonian Spit History Museum was functioning in the premises of the church. It was since 1988 that Evangelic Lutheran and roman Catholic services as well as concerts of organ and chamber music have been held there.
Evangelic Lutheran parish of Nida was approved in 1847. Before that, the believers had been saying their prayersin the premises of a former pub until it fell into complete decay. The Rev.Karl Gustav Echtermach who worked in Nida from 1876 until 1894 initiated the construction of the church. The new church was consecrated on October 10, 1888. The beautiful red brick building of the church remained despite numerous post-war devastations. More info on: www.neringainfo.lt
