Mandal has a population of approximately 13,000 inhabitants and is the southernmost town of Norway. It is situated along the mouth of the river of Mandal. In the 17th century, salmon from Mandal was regarded as a delicacy but for a a period of time salmon had become a rarity, but now it is returning to the river.

Close to the center of Mandal you will find more than 300 acres of nature park and more than 2000 m of sandy beaches. The most famous beach, Sjřsanden, is situated close to the town center. By strolling around in the narrow streets watching the well preserved wooden houses, you will feel the wingbeat of the history as well as the pulsating shopping life of today.
