The region takes in the boot shaped peninsula separating Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent and the major historical area of South Australia, extending from the famous Barossa Valley through the old copper mining regions and north to the agricultural areas inland from Port Pirie.
Quiet secluded holiday townships along the 600km of coastline, a major grain growing region, vineyards and much of the state's history. A fishing enthusiasts haven, try your hand at crabbing, all kinds of water sports and sailing. Dive the several wrecks or bushwalk the many trails throughout the region. No shortage of wineries, most with cellar door sales for visitors.
