This town serves as a base for visiting the jungly, marshy western side of Paraguay. Most visitors go on prearranged trips. There's not a tremendous amount to do there, but it's interesting to see how the region differs from the rest of the country. The town is the center for a large colony of Mennonite farmers from Germany, Russia and Canada. The most common language in Filadelfia is German.
