The climate is typically continental with mild winters and hot summers. The Province has a population of approximately 1 676 000 with majority (79,8%) living in rural areas. The Province is divided into 14 administrative districts with Terms as its administrative center. Termez has a population of 95 000. Other towns in the Province are Baysin, Denau, Jarqurgan, Qumqurgon, Shargun, Sherabad, Shurchy, and Sariaciya.
