Songbe, Vietnam

Displayed: times.
Song Be is on the banks of the river which bears its name, and in turn gives its name to this eastern province in southern Vietnam. There are many ethnic peoples in Song Be, with Cham, Khmer, Mnong, Stieng and others settled into villages typical of their culture.
The many fruit orchards cover three quarters of the rich, red earth here, and you can spend a lot of time simply observing as the people go about their daily work.
The Soc Xiem lake, in the center of a beautiful valley and surrounded by rubber plantations, is an enticing place for a romantic moonlit stroll.
For the artistically inclined, take a visit to Lai Thieu or Thu Dau Mot to see why Song Be ceramics have achieved their fame.
While its vision is fixed on the future, Song Be remembers its past in the battlefields of Loc Ninh, Phuoc Long, etc. These and other places evoke emotional memories for all veterans, their memories serving to remind later generations of the horrors of war.
