There are many Khmer Pagodas found in Soc Trang Province. Ma Toc pagoda is interesting for its thousands of large bats which sometimes become delicacies for the locals and tourists alike! The Khmer Museum in Soc Trang is excellent, and full of ancient artifacts. The exhibits reflect the very soul of this ancient and sophisticated culture. For nature lovers, the ideal spot to indulge your interest is Bac Lieu, in Ca Mau. Take a stroll through the bird sanctuaries. Discover the hidden secrets of the mangrove forests with their enormous variety of wild life such as bats, tortoises, snakes, shrimps, crabs, fish and countless varieties of birds. The Red Head Cranes have made Dong Thap their territory. Bird watchers, ornithologists and environmentalists have taken a keen interest in these rare birds.
