Displayed: times.Black River is a very small but lovely village and very quiet. It is well known of its crocodiles in the, yes you will not believe it, black river ! On the way from Kingston to Black River you will ride on Bamboo Avenue. Here bamboo has grown from both sides over the road, so it looks like you are traveling through a tunnel of bamboo. This 4 kilometer long tunnel of bamboo makes part of the normal roads and can be very busy with 'normal' traffic. Be very cautious if you park your car along the road to take pictures ! In 1988 the bamboo was for a large part destroyed by the hurricane Gilbert, although we did not see much damage any more.
