Mount Tambuyukon (2,579m) huddles elusively at the northern part of the Crocker Range, the backbone of Sabah. Set within the 754sq km boundaries of Kinabalu Park, the mountain is protected by the Sabah Parks Board, the park authority that manages the stateÂ’s national parks, nature and wildlife conservation areas.

The Kinabalu National Park is approximately 90km from Kota Kinabalu. ItÂ’s best to first take a flight to Kota Kinabalu and then take a two-hour bus ride to the park.
