Bukit Larut was formerly known as Maxwell Hill. The oldest hill resort in the country, Bukit Larut is located near Taiping, and is a mere 10-minute drive from there. The road leading up to the 1,000m high summit, winds through lush shady forest. The only way to get there is by taking 4x4 vehicles. The ascent is a must for city dwellers who are in need of fresh and cool hill top air. After the ride up, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view at the Larut Resthouse.

Beginning from 7am each day, you can get Land Rover services at the foot of the hill. The service runs once every hour and ends at 6pm.
