Narva, Estonia, Estonia

Monica Kochman
Displayed: times. While we don't recommend an intentional visit to Narva (except for those passing through on their way to St. Petersburg), the town does have some historical sites along the Narva River, which forms the Russian/Estonian border. Hermann's Fortress (a 14th-century castle), the baroque-style Town Hall (which dates from 1670) and the remains of 17th-century fortifications are the most notable attractions. The city's residents are predominantly ethnic Russians. 120 mi/195 km east of Tallinn.
