Displayed: times. One of the biggest national parks on the continent, the Hohe Tauern National Park comprises over one thousand square metres and covers parts of three of Austria's regions Carinthia, Salzburg and East Tyrol. As well as being home to over four hundred and fifty kilometres of ski slopes, there are also numerous hiking trails where you can catch glimpses of deer, chamois, ibex, mountain goats and a host of other fauna and flora. A welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the country's cities, the park is the perfect place to spend a couple of days getting in touch with nature and the like.
