Telc gets the city look in the 13th century. The big fire destroyed the wooden houses and the new buildings are constructed from stones. In the 50’s of 16th century Italian craftsmen were invited to bring new ideas of architecture. Gothic dwellings were rebuilt to neat houses with arcades and attractive facades. The houses were decorated with fresco-sgraffitos with figural motives and rustication. There are situated two precious fountains and a plague pillar in the triangular plaza.
Among other notable sights that are bound with the city belongs the Gothic castle rebuilt in Renaissance style by the hands of Italian masters. The majestic interiors survived inside till this day. The adjacent Renaissance garden counts to the oldest architectonic gardens in Czech Republic. It was established in 16th century in the place of former tiltyard and it is lined with arcades.
