In this leisure time attraction, whose duration in Dresden is limited to 2 or 3 years, visitors can explore the detailed reproduction of the North- and Baltic Sea habitat.
Sea Life has a total of 30 basins that put up more than 3,000 fish and other sea animals from 60 different species – from mussels and crabs over rays to sharks.
The center of the building is the 250,000 liter deep sea basin underneath which one can walk trough a unique, 10-meter long glass tunnel. Here, the visitor has the opportunity to take a very close look at the majestically gliding inhabitants of the sea. In other basins huge, vaulted panoramic windows enable the visitor to become one with the world behind the glass.
The cross-Europe Sea Life-concept pursues two goals: to offer good and demanding entertainment as well as to make people aware about the threatened ecosystems in front of our door.
This is way Sea Life cooperates permanently with the conservation group Greenpeace. To convey information, Sea Life's employees prefer to address visitors directly. They answer every question and explain connections. Like this both the beauty and fragility of ecosystems is illustrated without a moralizing undertone.
