Nicosia is situated in the centre of the island and can be easily accessed from all sides of Cyprus. The city is encircled with fortifications, erected in XVI century and owns number of houses, buildings and monuments. Nicosia is a shopping centre of Cyprus as well as a cultural centre. You can find and visit here Cyprus Jewelers Museum, Postal and philatelic Museum, Byzantine Museum, Art Galleries and Municipal Theatre. Streets bring you to the past: on the sides of streets old houses with balconies, decorated with flowers and sign-boards. Pedestrian square of Nicosia, carefully restored, re-creates the atmosphere of the old town. Numerous hotels, restaurants and shops will be at your disposal.
