Malmö is a city and municipality in Skåne County, in southern Sweden. With 267,171 inhabitans (2004) It is the largest city in Sweden after Stockholm and Gothenburg and the seat of residence for the county. The Malmö Metropolitan Region, Stor-Malmö (536,190 inhabitans 2004), consists of the following municipalities, all in Skåne county: Burlöv, Kävlinge, Lomma Lund, Malmö, Staffanstorp, Svedala, Trelleborg, Vellinge Malmö is also a part of the transnational Øresund Region. Nightlife A lot of bands tend to play at various venues or in the many plazas. These events are mainly centered around two places: Lilla Torg ("The Small Square") is encircled by trendy pubs and upmarket night clubs, while Möllevångstorget ("The Mill Meadow Square") houses run-down "slum pubs" as well as hang-outs for artists and good opportunities for live music.
