In the heart of the Netherlands, between the big rivers Maas and Waal and the cities Tiel, Nijmegen and Oss, you find the small village Appeltern. Since 1992 the Gardens of Appeltern are being located there, it’s the only garden information park in the Netherlands with over 170 model gardens. WALK AROUND AND GET IDEAS FOR YOUR GARDEN Walking trough the many gardens of the Appeltern park, you go from one surprise to the next. Each garden has its own character and they are all surprisingly different. There are city gardens, balcony gardens, waterfront gardens, patio gardens, an English garden, an Oriëntal garden and a farm garden. You will see the largest plant collection in the Netherlands, in beautiful flowerbeds, arranged by colour and all kins of uncommon combinations of plants. Besides thies, there are the ornamental decorations, flower decorations and works of art. Please allow yourself the time tot ake in all the fabulous things on display. Really everything is there to see with repeatedly changing materials and plants. Every year hundreds of thousands of people visit the Appeltern Gardens. A GREAT DEAL OF INSPIRATION A walk through the 170 model gardens with Dutch largest plant collection will fill you with inspiration for your own garden and home. But most of all is it a lovely sight and a relaxing experience. The outstanding location of the park in its rivers landscape with its trees, birds, ponds and flower meadows is unique. A visit to “The Gardens of Appeltern” is equally attractive in every season. A new theme is developed each month and there are a lot of events and workshops. You find several outdoor cafés where you can enjoy fresh delicacies. 'The Gardens of Appeltern' guarantees a lovely day out! Since the year 2000 you can come and see the architects gardens. These gardens are designed by famous Dutch garden and landscape architects and garden authors. In 2003 an interesting exhibitionon the Dutch garden and landscape architects had been created in the architecture pavilion.
