Eindhoven bustling city centre has several department stores and many exclusive boutiques & specialist shops. The various shopping areas are only a short distance away from each other, which makes shopping in Eindhoven a fun and relaxed experience. Shops are open Monday to Friday until 6pm, Saturday until 5pm. For a spot of late-night shopping visit Eindhoven on a Friday when all shops are open until 9pm. On Sundays shops are normally closed, apart from every first Sunday of the month. DonÂ’t forget to visit:
THE PIAZZA
The Piazza is Eindhoven's newest shopping centre. It was completely renovated last year and is now worth a visit for the building alone. The new building, designed by the Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas is completely transparent and offers 16.000 m2 of high-street shops and boutiques, a large beauty store and is especially good if you are looking for sportswear and shoes.
HEUVELGALERIE
EindhovenÂ’s largest shopping centre is situated in the heart of Eindhoven and has over 100 different shops for fashion, sportswear, books, music, design, accessories and beauty. It also houses the Holland Casino and the Frits Philips Music Centre - one of the most modern and acoustically designed concert halls in Europe.
THE BERGEN
In the picturesque streets of ‘The Bergen’, Eindhoven's artistic area, you will find a range of art galleries, specialist shops, interior design and antiques. On top of this, the small and pre-war streets offer a colourful collection of second-hand shops.
BIJENKORF
Situated next to the Piazza, the Bijenkorf (or ‘punch card’ as it is nicknamed by the locals), is an upmarket department store selling everything from fashion and beauty to design and lifestyle!
