Description:
The Roman National Museum of Baths was unveiled in 1889 and could be considered as one of the most important collections of ancient sculpture in the world. The museum contains the works of art found during the excavations executed after 1870. The exhibits are located in some halls of the Baths of Diocletian and in the rooms of suppressed Carthusian monastery including the cloister. The museum got richer by the donations of sculptures by the old Museo Kircheriano (collected by a Kircher in the 18th century) and Museo Ludovisi in 1621-1623.
