Tahiti (often called The Island of Love) is the largest island in French Polynesia, located in the archipelago of Society Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean. As far south of the equator as Hawaii is north, Tahiti is halfway between California and Australia. Population is about 169,674 inhabitants. The 402 sq. miles of Tahiti's surface area consist of mountain peaks reaching over dense rainforests of soft ferns. The deep green valleys are covered with rainforests and soft ferns, with waterfalls cascading into cool rivers and streams leading to flat coastal land, with fields of taro and flowers. Many people choose Thaiti for their wedding ceremonies and honeymoons.
