Surrounded by the Indian Ocean on three sides, Fort Dauphin is a picturesque town that should be included in every visit to Madagascar. Founded in 1642 and named after King Louis XIV, it has long been a popular destination on account of itÂ’s pleasant climate. To get a good view of the town and its surroundings a hike up the Pic St. Louis is recommended.
