Gaurdak is located is in the extreme eastern corner of Turkmenistan, squeezed between the Amu-Darya and Uzbekistan. The landskape is mountainous, contains interesting gorges, waterfalls and cave complexes and it's really beautiful. Hundreds of dinosaur footprints make the Kugitang reserve a hotspot. Right on the Uzbek border, the reserve is a geological research centre.
