Tanzania - Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania

The Park is situated between Lake Manyara, and the western wall of the Eastern Great Rift Valley. The area is known for its “tree-climbing lions” which frequently recline high above the ground in the branches of Acacia trees. The location of the Park cradled beneath 600 metres of ochre coloured escarpment makes for an imposing and breath taking entrance. Some of the habitats found here include: the rift wall, the ground water forest, Acacia woodland, and areas of open grassland and swamps, as well as the sulphur springs at Maji Moto. Wildlife found here includes elephant, leopard, lion, giraffe, impala, and hippo. Entering the gate of the Park one enters the forest where troops of Blue monkeys and baboons are often seen.
