Displayed: times.96% of Tajikistan's electricity generation is hydroelectric, and the hydroelectric potential is enough to meet all of Tajikistan's energy needs and to export electricity to her neighbours. However, low reservoir water levels sometimes leads to electricity rationing. Electricity is the most reliable utility in Tajikistan. There are occasional blackouts, but usually these do not last for more than a few hours. It is still a good idea to bring a battery powered torch or head torch. Tajikistan's electricity supply is 220 V, 50 Hz. Sockets are the round European type, with two pins but no earth connection.
