well, the trip continued to be frought with ill luck. just after i wrote my last post, my glasses broke. not permanently, one of the screws just came out, but it's not something i'll be able to deal with for a few days. fortunately, the weather improved on sunday, it was a rather gorgeous day and we found another area of town that had quite a bit of beautiful architecture. the 'old town square' area -- which is where everyone has to go when they go so it's full of people...
