Travel story: Rome 2004: Day One

I leave Dan’s house in Derby at 4.18am. My grumbling about having to be up at 4am in order to go on holiday with a beautiful woman does not evoke much sympathy from my taxi driver, who also had to be up at 4am, but only got to drive me to the airport. I felt obliged to tip.
