Travel story: Royale Without Cheese March 15, 2002

We left Paris in the morning, after picking up the rental car at Charles De Gaulle Airport. We drove a couple hours south of Paris to Amboise in the Loire Valley. The Loire is where it was trés fashionable to build fancy châteaux (castles) from about the 15th to 17th centuries.
