Travel story: Varanasi, Wednesday the 10th of August

Morning arrival at Varanasi station. I reluctantly leave the relative peaceful settings of the train carriage to face the heat, crowds, smells and the assault of colors and noise of the train station. I am quick to find a rickshaw to take me to a hotel recommended by my guide book. The hotel is conveniently situated on the Ganges and has a large roof terrace with a commanding view of the city.
