Travel story: Alexandria, Sunday the 29th of August

The breakfast at the Cecil is a feast of colours and tastes, swimming in the light reflected from the harbour. I eat it outside, on the terrace, watching the modern world go by, carried away in a horse drawn carriage.



The mornings of Alexandria are quiet, shops are closed, the streets are empty but the cafes are full. It seems that the working hours are not very regularly kept: late start to the morning, closed for siesta after lunch but, possibly, open till late,... More
