Almost 50% of Peru is part of the Amazon Basin but only about 5% of Peru's population inhabit the region. There are several areas that the traveller can visit to experience the jungle. Iquitos is the largest city in the Peruvian jungle, it once was the world capital of rubber production. There are flights from Miami once a week and from Lima everyday.
