consumables and souvenires to fantastic cold weather clothing (as you might expect!). The evening was spent at the Webbers
house for a fairwell dinner which was accompanied by a fantastic show of Northern
Lights. Great food and conversation capped an enjoyable day and following numerous goodbyes to the members of the group who
were leaving that night we headed off to bed prior to an early start on the Tundra Buggies the next morning.
The Tundra buggy trip proved to be a little disappointing after all the excitement out at the lodge. Polar Bears were thin
on the ground and those that were about were inactive, probably due to the slightly higher temperature. Our Tundra buggy was
nearly full which made viewing limited to the side of the buggy where you were sitting. Although this is generally out of your
control if you are travelling independently some of the tour parties hire a Tundra buggy for their groups and often run a part
full buggy allowing individuals better viewing opportunities. Anyway we did get a look at a few big bears at close quarters as
well as a couple of Arctic Foxes and an Arctic Hare. I guess had we not had such a fantastic time out at the lodge the Tundra
Buggy trip may have seemed better but all of our group agreed that the tundra buggy trip was disappointing and were glad that
we only had one trip and not 2 or 3 as many people do. In deed the four of our group who had been on the buggy the previous
day had cut short their day and taken the optional helicopter transfer out at lunch time!
We were on our own in Churchill for the last night as the rest of the group headed off home or onwards to the next part of their
holiday. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights again duing the evening and I managed to get a few photographs as
