Celebrating Toby's 24th Birthday in style in Nairobi. Spending a few days talking to students of the Moshi International School. Being offered a nights accomodation at a very posh hotel on the way to Kenyan border. Sleeping in a variety of places including a restaurant, mosque and a service station. Paul and Owy's lucky escape from thieves. Relaxing on the beaches of Tiwi before making our way down to Dar Es Salaam.

Messages on the back of bus:
• 'You will learn from us'
• 'Armageddon'
• 'In GOD we Trust' (this I took as some form of insurance disclaimer).
Things sold to waiting bus passengers through window:
• Small coffee tables
• Plastic bags
• Skinned sheep carcass
• Live chickens

Toby refused to believe his bike was the lightest demanding a recount but all together the bikes came in at just under 200kg, contenders for the heavy weight cycle touring division. We had our first taste of Tanzanian food that night as we dined on fresh fish cooked in coconut sauce with rice. Now, having come through a few countries already you would expect that we would have the whole money changing thing down pat. But for some reason we are currently in a muddle, money between us is owed in Ethiopian Birr, American Dollars, Pounds Stirling, Kenyan Shillings and now Tanzanian Shillings.
