Again it's raining hard and it lasts the whole day. Despite that we rent mountainbikes and bike to Ambodifotatra, the town we docked at a few days ago. There's a church here, the oldest of Madagascar. It was a gift from the french and dates from 1857.

In between the showers we go look for the pirate cemetery, which we manage to reach through a slippery path full of sharp rocks. It's an overgrown, very old spooky graveyard full of slanting, barely readable gravestones. One of them shows the classic skulls 'n bones. Around the cemetery is a wide view over the island.

The legend goes that the treasure of Captain William Kidd, a notorious pirate whose ship has recently been discovered by divers, is still hidden somewhere on the island. We'd like to look for it but the continious rain prevents us from doing that. As it's sunday today everything is closed as well so we can't do much more but eat and be lazy. The food is excellent by the way, so that makes up for things.
