It's been 5 years since this trip, so I am going to think back about where I went, and what types of cool adventures I experienced during this time. My primary motives for taking this trip was the following: I had never been out of North America and wanted to see more of the world. I had contacts across Europe, and thought it would be fun to visit them. Also, I was about to go to University (I had graduated High School) and figured that life as a student is always poor. So why not have gone on a trip before school and used up some money that I had since I would be poor when it came time for university anyway. The trip was a month long in total and I only spent a few days in most places.

It was a very quick train ride. Only a few hours and I was in Paris!
France - Paris
Once I arrived in Paris, I somehow missed the passport people completely (and at that time, all borders had stamped my passport, so I do not think Europe was as open as it is now). Anyways, I took the Metro to my cousin's place which was in the Latin Quarter on Boulevard St. Germain. It was super close to the Maubert Mutualité metro stop, however, as I came out, I was confused since the street signs were on the buildings, not on the street corners, so I asked a local guy where the street was (using my horrible french skills) and he sorta laughed and said you're right on it and pointed it out. I also thought it was pretty funny and within minutes found my cousin Brian's apartment. Staying with my cousin was quite awesome. He was very hospitable and let me organize my trip from his house (got to make some long distance phone calls), he even gave me a cell phone to use so that we could communicate, and took me out for dinners just about every day. The first afternoon he took me out on a tour and showed me the main attractions (however we did it kind of quick, which was refreshing in its own way). He told me of some cool places to see and gave me a guide book to help me out (since the other days he would be working, so I would be wandering around on my own (I love adventures!). I decided (of course with Brian's advice) to check out the underground tour. This included the Catacombs as well as the sewers. The catacombs are a bit eery with all the bones and all, but it's quite interesting how all of that underground space came from the fact that most of the buildings were made from stone that came from that underground. My tour of the sewers was quite funny, however I could not find the entrance to the tours, so I asked a local guy "Où est l'égouts?" which is grammatically incorrect for "Where are the sewers?" since I
