As I alluded to last entry, Brussels was fantastic! Our hotel was in a great location and much nicer than the floatel. It was near the train station which always helps and set amongst cobbled stoned streets and medieval buildings - quintessential Europe. Mel and I dumped our bags and set off to explore. I had not had bfast so wanted some food. It had not clicked until I saw the store... but one of my favourites foods is crepes and with the french influence in Belgium they were everywhere. After 2 serves of crepes au sucre (basically crepes with lots of sugar on them) I was ready to go.<br />

We inevitably end up seeing fantastic things and have yet to leave anywhere feeling that we have missed out on seeing or doing something. On our way back to the hotel in the early evening we stopped to pick up some wine which we took back to our hotel to have with our chocolate. I can not tell you how much chocolate we ate as I think I have repressed the memory. Belgian chocolate is beyond delicious. It is so incredibly decadent and rich that you can't help but feel a little naughty eating it.

After the red wine I needed some real food in my stomach so we went to a restaurant we had seen earlier in the day whilst on our travels. We had both eaten so much chocolate that we only ordered salads. They did the trick though and started to mop up some of the wine. It is quite cool here at nights so we didn't stray too far after dinner. We went back to our room and had more chocolate. I had cut my tongue earlier in the day on a lollipop but was still able to consume copious quantities of chocolate - that is dedication for you!

On Saturday ...
