On Thursday morning Mel and I made our way to the train station in Berlin. We were running a little short on time and had the funniest morning. On our way to the station our cab got a flat tyre. Mel and I however, did not know he had a flat tyre and when he stopped, pulled over and motioned for us to get out of the car we had no idea what was going on! We thought we must have said somehting offensive or done somehting wrong. He had to take us around to the flat tyre and show us before we realised why he had pulled over with a grave look on his face.

So Mel and I stood in the rain wand waited for another taxi. Both Mel and I are big fans of The Amazing Race and I commented as we were waiting for the other cab that if we were on The Amazing Race we would be very cranky. As the cab pulled up and we stepped in we continued the joke further and started to scream at each other (impersonating contestants from the show) statements like:
'I hate you so much right now'
'What am I supposed to do - check the tyres of every cab we get into?' and
'when we get home I never want to see you again!'
We thought we were hilarious. Our cab driver though, spoke excellent English and thought we were serious. When he turned around with a look of sheer terror on his face at our outburst this made the whole situation much more funnier and Mel and I were still giggling a good 5 minutes later.
We had to get our passes for Czech Rep validated before getting ont he train and the queue was huge. Neither Mel nor I had consumed our morning coffee by this stage and there was no way we were going to get on the train without one. This, not the validation of tickets (which if left undone incurs a 180Euro fine) was our number one priority. So whilst Mel waited to get out tickets validated I was left with the very important task of getting the coffees - the bigger the better. I won't keep you in suspense, it is ok -
