To all of those ringing my mother disgruntled because i have not been updating as regularly as promised... i am very sorry. i have been very busy and internet access is scarce. i have to admit that it has been so long since my last entry that i have my personal journal on my lap to trigger my memory so much has happened.
And more of Turkey...

Last Thurs night we were in Ergidir, a small town on the Med. That night we had dinner at the hotel and it was one of the ladies birthdays, she did not know but we organised a cake fer her and i think she was quite chuffed. We kept the fact that we knew it was her birthday secret until dinner. Only a few of our dinners our included but every single night everybody has gotten together for dinner. We are indeed a tight group. i enjoy everybodies company (some more than others naturally) and meal times are always something to look forward to. We generally try and sit next to different people each night so i feel that i know everyone pretty well.
On Fri (7am wakeup call - yuck) we headed towards the seaside town of Kas stopping at Termessos. This ancient site of ruins has been one of the highlights for me thus far. As we headed further south not only did the scenery change it got a little warmer. The barren, rocky hills of Cappodocia turned into forests of green pine trees. The ruins are on the top of a large mountain and it was a steep 20min hike up to the top. Suzanne and i went up by ourselves as we wanted to push ourselves to get some exercise. We of course got lost up in the hills but eventually stumbled upon the rest of the group at the large amphitheatre. Needing to go to the bathroom i headed back down the mountain by myself. it was a memorable experience. For the first time in ages i was ok with just a singlet on as it was fairly warm. The path was shaded, covered with generous branches of greenery from imposing trees. Gaps in their formation let through sporadic bursts of spectacular sunlight which created curious shadows.
