Well this past weekend was a busy one for me. I did not know it would be a beach trip though, so I neglected to bring my bathing suit. The group leaders (male group leaders) told me not to worry, it's Spain I could just go in my underwear, now that would have made for some interesting Travel Blog Photos. We made the best of the wind and rain and ate our bagged lunches (bocadillos) on the sand then threw the football around for a while. Hike up to the top of the castle was worth it for the view.<br />
I've picked out the tattoos I want . . .

Well this past weekend was a busy one for me. Friday, I went on the SPU trip to Peñíscola, a beach town an hour and a half away from Valencia, then the next morning I headed with my jiu jitsu teammates to Madrid for the Campeonato de Grappling de España.
In Peñíscola there's the beach and the castle and that's about it, so if it happens to be a rainy day like it was, the beach time is not as great. I did not know it would be a beach trip though, so I neglected to bring my bathing suit. We made the best of the wind and rain and ate our bagged lunches (bocadillos) on the sand then threw the football around for a while. Hike up to the top of the castle was worth it for the view.
Came back to Valencia later that evening, ate a plate full of vegetables. Marga really got into preparing vegetables for my "regimen" as I had to cut a few kilos for my tournament. I would have liked to eat Mom's fettuccine carbonara like I usually do the night before a tournament, but the green beans had to do. Packed my stuff up for the next day and hit the sack, only to be awakened by "Cumpleaños Feliz" and then "Happy Birthday" from the floor below ours. The "Alemanas" (German girls) were having a party with what sounded like all of Valencia, one call to my mobile and Sara the dog having a barking fit because Grayson had a friend over and I was finally asleep.
Next morning, met Chiqui, Javi and Kiko at the Piscina Valencia and walked over to nearby restaurant to "almorzar" - the Spanish equivalent of brunch. Chiqui, who was in charge of my "regimen" for the rest of the day, ordered a half sandwich of tortilla espanola (eggs and potato omelet) and water for me. Then I listened to Javi talk about his trip to Brazil where he was bitten by an 8 cm long worm on the beach
