At the time this was great, and with hindsight it still was. It was stereotypical, I took a gap year, I went travelling, I did the standard route, I learnt a lot about myself. Don't feel you have to read it :)

The story continues..

Firstly welcome to my new friends from Fraser Island, although considering how long it's been since then they are almost old friends!

Where did I leave you..oh yeah the Whitsundays.

So We returned to port after three days on the sea. I was becoming a little sea urchin by this time and was jumping round the boat like I'd been born and raised on board. Consequently I was quite upset to leave, I don't expect any of you to be sympathetic though, afterall most of you haven't spent the morning on the beach soaking up the rays like yours truly.

Anyway having not broken anything for my entire trip I managed to do some serious damage before leaving Airlie Beach. The crew were but two and they claimed that they lacked a member to help dock the boat, two were required to attached these ropes to the jetty and one to steer and control the boat. So they asked me to help! So We came in to dock and still moving I jumped off with a long rope attached to the front of the boat, the other crewman told me to pull the boat into the side of the jetty, so I looked at the size of the boat and doubtfully began to tug. Amazingly after significant effort the boat began to move! And it kept moving and kept moving and the boat went straight into this bollard thing that had loads of taps and dials and things on. Luckily the bollard creaked and bent and snaped in places but didn't break in half and nothing was leaking! I shouted out stuff like "I'm not a professional" and "I didn't do it" and left quickly! Oops!

Anyway having downed many pints and gone to bed (sorry scooners not pints) I awoke bright and early.

We spent the whole day today on the bus to Hervey Bay, the time went quicker than I thought it would and soon we were tucked up in fresh beds.
