and that if I experience pain in the chest it is most probably due to high tension in the upper back. As I have been suffering from pain in the chestbone quite often lately, I am impressed that she has pinpointed the problem without me even mentioning it.
There is banana soup for supper. Totally delicious. Fred Olsen bananas.
On Wednesday morning the terrace outside is wet. It has been raining that night and the morning is slightly cooler than the previous days. Perfect for another walk.
Jack goes up to reception to ask if they can recommend a nice route. In the mean time, I leaf through a book with photographs of the Island. The photographer is a coot named Olsen.
The recommended route follows more or less the trail we had already done before, but then curves upwards to San Sebastian. We don't go that far. Near Playa del Medio we turn back. It is very rocky terrain and moves up and down a lot.
Same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie?
After supper we want to participate in the hotel animation. The programme is attractive.
First, the winners of the sports competitions are given their prizes. Winning three competitions is rewarded with a very stylish black cap, with Fred Olsen logo on the front. We non-winners are consumed with envy.
Next, Miguel, the barman, is going to give a demonstration of how to make an Alexander cocktail, and a variation with Gin and crème de menthe, an Alexandra.
The animator shows a hibiscus flower to the public. The person who can guess what the flower is called and where it comes from, wins the Alexander cocktail. Several people come to the front, but it takes a while before somebody mentions "Hawaii" as the country of origin of the hibiscus. Who can name all the Canary Islands? A lady proudly steps forward, recites them perfectly and walks off
