Well we went on the Gondala ride up to the top of Whistler Mountain and the view from up there was just beautiful!! can't wait to get the next CD burnt so that I can put the photos up for you all to see - there was snow everywhere up there so for the second time in my life I got to touch it and was pretty excited!! It was a bit chilly up there but not as cold as I thought it would be. We went for a bit of a walk and took a few pictures, made some snowballs and headed back down so that we could leave for Jasper.
Through to Jasper...

wetsuit - much to my horror!! and let me tell you, it's not the easiest task in the world!! and thankfully they didn't do any of the others any favours either!! Then our guides started with the rafting commands we would need to know and then what to do in the event of something going wrong and you falling out... I have to say I wasn't feeling particularly confident at this stage and did consider briefly about piking out myself!! but before we knew it we were in the raft and practicing our newly acquired skills on command and I was starting to feel a little better about it. The water in the river is like all the other lakes, the most beautiful shades on blue and torquise that are hard to describe. They say that the minerals out of the mountains are the course of the colour. The rapids were class 3 and as we navigated through them with out guide the only screams to be heard where screams of excitment not fear.
The water was about 6 degres but you didn't really feel that cold until you stopped. Our guide was excellent and you could tell that extreme sports was definately his thing!!
On the way down the river I saw my very first real live bear!! It was a smallish black bear which was drinking from the side of the river - aways when you are without your camera!!
The helicopters were doing heli logging along the river which was pretty cool to watch.
We then headed back to Jasper. Got in late and only just had enough time for a quick shower before dinner - I was so excited to learn that Danielle and Tammy of our Grand Northern Tour were arriving in Jasper today too and had got in contact with Nat and were meeting up with us for drinks!
So after dinner we caught up with the girls and everyone went to the Karaoke bar which lead to many many drinks, catching up on goss and more really really bad singing!!! we all ended up doing Eye of the Tiger again, since this is Nat's specialty and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. I have it all on video, which I am choosing not to watch at this time as I don't think I'm going to like what I hear or see!!! It was a very very late night!!
Today we went out to Milgne Lake and I have to say that I just wasn't feeling the best, but it was totally self inflicted and deserved!! We took a river cruise over the lake and it's lovely. The bluest water yet. We managed to see 2 glaciers whislt we were going and some mountain goats. It's weird around here, doesn't get dark until about 11.15pm here and they say that in the winter at the Lake, it gets dark at about 4pm ad the lake freezes over with about 5foot of ice and 20 foot of snow and the temperature is around -60 degrees!!! definately glad we did it in the summer! the deepest part of the lake is about 98m deep.
Tammy and Danielle are meeting up with again tonight, not sure whether I will survive another night of it yet!!! but it should be great!
