to meet me. We talked about our requirements then just talked about personal matters. I also met the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for the European Theatre of Operations & NATO. He had seen me on TV over here and wanted to meet me (once again, the honor was all mine). I was so glad to finish my trip here in Germany since it is one of my favorite European countries. Despite being busy, we took time for sightseeing and castle gazing. The days were comfortable and nights cold with temperatures ranging from 18 to 50 (forty degrees less than the Middle East). On November 22, I flew eleven hours directly from Frankfurt back home to Forth Worth, Texas. We flew over Germany, France, United Kingdom, N. Atlantic, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, Great Lakes and the Central US. Just as quickly as it had begun, the 30,000 mile, 18 day trip was over and it seemed surreal that I had just flown around the planet to Japan, Okinawa, Korea, Qatar, Germany and back home in such a short time. My mind was so full of memories that I didn't know where to start when my family asked how my trip went. I gave them gifts from around the world and was thankful to be home for Thanksgiving with my family - and I am thankful. I am thankful for my family, job, upcoming book, ministry and most especially for the positive attitude God has given me. I know I am blessed and am thankful for God's grace to this old sinner. If an old paraplegic like me can accomplish the small things in this text, just imagine what you can do - YOU CAN DO IT.
German Adventure - I landed in Frankfurt eight hours later just as the sun was rising over the cold gray skies. The clouds slowly dissipated to reveal the enormous Alps that overlooked Bavaria like a parent stands over a child. Doug Hayes (Quality Manager) picked me up after passing through customs.
