Around the World Trip to Australia and India - My trip to Australia was a long 14.5 hours in economy class. When I arrived a limo took me to the hotel where I got a few hours of sleep before the waking to see a gorgeous Australian sunrise. The hotel was just a mile from the CSC building, so after a breakfast of Auzy and American cuisine, I pushed my chair to class. Each night I had dinner with students or Sr. Management. Within four days I was adjusted to the time difference (17 hours later). One night I went into Sydney to see the sights and had dinner at a 5-Star restaurant at the famous Sydney Opera House. On Saturday morning, a limo took me to the airport and I flew 10 hours to Singapore and barely made my flight as my flight was an hour late. My wheelchair was sitting in the jetway and they said it was doubtful it would make it but would send it on the next plane. I told them I would transfer into it and take it with me to the next flight. They said it had not been through customs and that would be impossible. I transferred into it anyway (as if two attendants could stop me). They would not help me since I was breaking the rules and I pushed my chair the length of three terminals in just 12 minutes with 5 whole minutes to spare. Then I flew 8 more hours to New Delhi. The man sitting next to me was a member of the upper caste. He was arrogant, condescending to me and the wonderful flight attendants. He called them incessantly with his call button. No matter what they did for him he never said, "thank you." After going through customs a limo took me to a five-star hotel with a world class spa. Each day I taught very intelligent Indian Students. The requirements to gain access to the class was an Engineering or Mathematical degree, be a member of management, and recommended by a Vice President. They were so smart and an honor to work with. They all spoke wonderful English (Americans butcher English). The food was very hot and some of my favorite ...
