It´s been over 4 full days since we stayed the night in the desert, but recapping it in this journal shouldn´t be hard. If all goes well, and alzheimers doesn´t completely take me over, it´s something i´ll remember forever.

The Sahara.
(I dont think there is a more fitting title than ¨The Sahara¨, so i´ll leave it at that)
It´s been over 4 full days since we stayed the night in the desert, but recapping it in this journal shouldn´t be hard. If all goes well, and alzheimers doesn´t completely take me over, it´s something i´ll remember forever.
The original plan was for us to find an already planned desert trip via the hotel. But we quickly found out that not only were they crap, but way to expensive (somewhere around 100 euros). So after a little deliberation and some minor disagreements we decided to find our own way to the desert, and pick up a tour guide from there. It worked out splendidly...
Well... ¨Splendidly¨If you don´t count the 12 hour bus ride from hell that came complete with interior exhaust fumes, broken windows, Crazy Arabs and turkeys in bags.
Once in Merzouga and off our shit bus, we were Chickens for the slaughter. A tired, hungry and lost group of tourists looking for practically anyone to take them wandering into the desert. We quickly found someone who loaded us into their 4x4 and took us into Erg Chebbi via a road that looked

better suited for a mogul run than a vehicle. With sore asses and bruised heads (as a result of shifty african suspension) we stumbled into their convent where we bartered over prices for one night in the desert.
Point of Interest - Trying to tell someone¨you´ll only pay 40 euro´s, or else you´ll go somewhere else¨just isn´t that effective when in the middle of nowhere. He laughed at us and told us to start walking. As you can probably guess, we paid the full price of 45 euro´s.
Once we "agreed" on a price and the days activities, we all went to bed until 4pm, when we were scheduled to go into the desert. Once in the desert and on our sketchy and rebelious camels we stopped
