Fed up with after not even two years of employment I decided to quit my job and go travelling for a few months. This travelogue is a personal account of the trip, but it also includes some general information on things to do and places to go. It was the first time I travelled on my own, but as it turned out, travelling on my own did not mean travelling alone...

The three of us went out to see the Three Kings, an OK film about the Iraq war aftermass. After that I went to a local bar with Craig, where he told me his dubious past before we were picked up by a deaf, short, bold, fat and incredibly drunk Kiwi girl. Basically she tried to snog us all the time, and Craig was fairly up for it, I was trying to avoid any contact, but did not succeed entirely.
Now is one of the very few times where I am bored; tired because I can’t sleep, reading my Japanese roommates mangas, and waiting for the money to come through that my dear parents are going to send me. Highlight was perhaps yesterday when we went down to the American Cup village where we saw some of the most amazing 50m sailing yachts I have ever seen. Perhaps worth mentioning that there are a large number of Japanese and Korean people here in Auckland that has kind of rekindled my idea if going back to Japan for a bit to teach English.

Not much happening at the moment, went to Waiheke island yesterday with Kobi, beach and walking, got very sunburned. Positive note were share prices, Orange at 2317, BT at 1313, and Vodafone at 350. Evening got incredibly drunk on cheap Australian wine, had an interesting discussion with Kobi and Japanese guy about Asian linguistics.

Finally making progress. Got the money 2 days ago and set off as soon as I could. Night before again set chatting with Korean girls + Koby + Japanese guy for a while, after they were all mangad out.
Went to Rotorua to see Robyn yesterday, she and family are fine. Had dinner at hers, then went with her brother to the “Secret Spot”, a hot spring that leads into a little creek, not too secret though as there were 2 other groups there, one of them consisting of 4 Japanese tourists.
