South America 2005 - part IV

Anyway, so eventually Jo and myself headed back to Buenos Aires (Dave had gone back to Mendoza for a while and Georgie decided to do a 10 day boat trip up to Puerto Montt), where we met up with Rebecca, a friend from London who had come out to see some bloke she knows from the Canadian embassy.
Dave arrived the day after and we were set for a week of excessive drinking and partying. Looking back now the week was predictably unrewarding, I lasted two nights before I felt constantly tired, hung-over and irritable and I should have left BA then yet styed on for another 5 nights. Basically the week went like this:
* Monday: Kilkenny's pup, where apparently most of the foreigners go, though I fail to see what all the fuss was about; it was an average place, but fairly busy even on a Monday and mostly guys in there. Got chatting to some local girls but they soon left and we ended up in another, better but very busy bar not far away where I again met some nice locals but eventually got dragged away by the rest of the group who wanted to go home.
* Tuesday: we met up with a local friend of Dave's in Palermo. The place was small, posh, full of trendy kids with too much many to spend on designer clothes, so ended up getting drunk and only in the end did I find a nice group of locals who worked for American Express.
* Wednesday: went to the pub opposites Kilkenny's with some English lads form the hostel and Cat (Canadian girl) and the Israeli girl, then off to a Brazilian club recommended by some locals that turned out to be, well, a bit strange. It had a stage full of beach-boys and girls, skimpy cloths and incredible bodies, doing some kind of dance that half the dance floor was trying to copy, terrible.
* Thursday: Things got even worse, met up with Robert (German guy I met in Ushuaia) at the Tango Inn, completely empty so
