After Woodstock i got a few days break where i was able to say goodbye to my friends and pack my bag (that took about a day). It was good to be able to relax after Woodstock and catch up on sleep as i was getting back from the field at about 3:30 every morning!! My friend Sudevi and I organised a lift into Berlin and we stayed overnight there at a hostel, which was acutally really nice and we were able to get to see a bit of Berlin. The main thing that I can remember about Berlin is the bears - they were everywhere you looked. Whether it was the bears themselves, or souveneirs of the bears, or billboards advertising the bears, it really was impossible to escape!!!! I managed to avoid buying any bear merchandise which was quite a feat really...!

The next morning I caught a bus (my first public transport experience overseas) to the airport and arrived with heaps of time :D so i just wandered around the airport for a while before my flight. My flight went from Berlin to Vienna and then Vienna to Prague, so it was a bit of a roundabout way to get there, but i did get some nice stamps in my passport (YAY) and also got to spend time in Vienna airport which was really pretty! Very modern and stylish.

I arrived in Prague and got a minibus sort of thing to the centre of town and straight away bumped into some Hare Krsnas (whats the chance of that!!). So that was really cool and already made me feel like I was safe here in Prague and had family here. I think i will check out the temple here later in the week, as there are so many things
that ive been trying to fit into my time here!!!!

The first night here in Prague i spent just wandering around the centre of town - completely stunned. I really wasnt at all prepared for the beauty here, everything is like a little artwork and has such a history. It is such a breathtaking city, and the kind of place that you could never get sick of... My photos cant do it justice but i thought i better include them in here anyway. Everyone here speaks english (which is definitely a change) and makes everything so easy!

My first full day i decided that i should take some photos and so went a little overboard. I also went to the Museum if Communism which was quite interesting and the National Museum which was quite boring. Yesterday i went to Prague Castle which was really beautiful as well, and spent a few hours wandering around there. I walked over the famous Charles Bridge, which has statues lining the sides of it from the 1700's (i think).

The people staying in my hostel are really cool - they are mostly americans so far. SOOO many americans over here!!! I havent met any other aussies here yet.

I dont have many stories to tell - and i am so busy that i dont have too much time, but i am really just in awe of the beauty of everything here, and it is really cool to see the sights listening to my iPod! I just plug my headphones in and strut ;)

Not much else to report (sorry)

Lots of love,
Sita
