thanks for all your e-mails...nice to know it´s cold and wet at home - helped to quell any nerves we´ve got anbout the trip!
we delayed leaving bristol for a couple of days to finish some last minute jobs but in truth I think we´ll be doing ´last minute´repairs all the way - the perils of taking a 40 year old land rover.

The ferry crossing to Santander was fine (dire predicitons wrong Mr Rogers!) and we headed south. We strayed across Land Rover town La Carolina (somewhere north of Granada) and Russell attracted quite a few admiring glances.

Presently in Granada lapping up the sun and catching up on mails.

Our next step is Gilbralter and then the ferry to Morocco.

Russell's being a bit naughty - don´t think he knows what´s hit him. Slight oil leak on the gear box means we´ve had to learn very quickly what the spanish is for gasket set and I´ve stopped moaning about the amout of spares we´re carrying.
